The mountains of Guatemala, already an impoverished country, are where some of the poorest of the poor live, most on less than $1 US per day.In the Rotary year just ended, one of our members went down on an exploratory mission trip to assess the needs and discovered that access to clean water is only available when the local population uses one of our Rotary Clean Water Filters, these have a cost for the latest and best model version of $50 each. We wish to partner with a local well established non-profit organisation MayanFamilies.org who already partner with several US Rotary Clubs, as well as the local Panajachel Rotary Club to provide filters so that more people may have access to clean water, which is a basic need and right.
