Project Description Country: South Africa Location: East London Total Budget: $7,560 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Van to provide ACCESS for children at Open Arms Home to attend school This grant will address and enhance the educational needs of the growing population of orphaned and vulnerable children at Open Arms Home for Children in Komga, South Africa. Basic education and literacy is a key component of future success. This global grant will help these children achieve their maximum educational potential by providing the access to the appropriate school for each eligible child. The purchase of a van is necessary to transport the children to these schools as there are not governmental nor civil transportation available. This grant will provide part of the funding for the van. Other Rotary clubs and district will be providing the remainder of Van cost.
