Summary: Medical Mission to provide preventive and primary care to the indigenous people in Quetzaltanango, Guatemala


The Rotary Club of San Diego South Bay will be launching its first medical mission to Guatemala on November 9, 2015. In collaboration with the local health providers, educators, and community leaders, and thru the Clinica Medica of Primeros Pasos, a non profit independent organization, we will hold a 3 day health fair focusing in preventive and primary care.

Medical supplies and medicines are much needed.

To accomplish this mission, we have been coordinating with the Primeros Pasos clinic staff that will provide at least 6 local doctors, dentists, and volunteers. There will be about 10 SD South Bay Rotarians that will provide assistance with health education, and dispensing of medications.

Cost Estimates:

Doctors and Dentists $1,800

Over the counter meds $ 500

Multivitamins $ 300

Clinic and dental supplies $ 500

Toiletries and San supplies $300

Lodging Fees $ 900

Land Transportation $ 300
