Summary: Provide books to children of military families, on Camp Pendleton.


To date, we have been distributing children's books to military families, Naval Hospital on Camp Pendleton, ASYMCA, Camp Pendleton, and three base libraries. We are able to store and distribute books to pre-school children at our Warrior Warehouse on Camp Horno (Area 53). There are approximately 9,274 children under the age of 5 on base. In order to continue this very worthwhile program, we are requesting the District Grant.

Camp Pendleton RC has two District Grant applications (P-1037 & P1050) which seem to be duplicates. They are each asking for $2500. DDF match. Clubs are limited to $3500. in DDF match.

District Grant application P-1037 was approved by the D5340 Rotary Foundation Committee at its August 2015 meeting. The Committee approved a match of $2000. in DDF to match Club funds for this project.
