Project Description Country: USA Location: Stephenville, Texas Total Budget: $7,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarships Summary: This grant will provide four(4) additional college scholarships of $500 each.Two(2) of these will be for internatlional study purposes.These scholarships will be awarded to students in Stephenville, Texas high school and students from Tarleton College. The Rotary Club of Stephenville gives ten (10) $500 dollar scholarships to be used at a higher education facility through a raffle held during our Leaders of Tomorrow yearly banquet.We would like to supplement this valuable program by four(4)$500 scholarships.We are requesting a district grant of $2000 dollars. Of these new scholarships,two(2)will be used for students involved in international studies programs at Tarleton College in Stephenville.This will increase the total number of scholarships to fourteen(14. We raise funds for this valuable worthwhile project through our American Flag placement program where we put flags in front of individual homes or business, nine(9)times per year.Approximately 25 members are involved in the flag placement program and the Leaders of Tomorrow banquet.The purpose of this project is to award deserving students and to of-set the cost of a higher education.
