Summary: A dictionary provided to each public school 3rd grade student in Laguna Niguel, CA; 720 dictionaries.

The Rotary club of Laguna Niguel will purchase and distribute a dictionary to every public school 3rd grader in Laguna Niguel. Over 700 dictionaries will be distributed to 7 schools. Rotary stickers/labels will be placed inside each dictionary. At each school visited, the importance of literacy and vocabulary will be discussed as well as Rotary's 4-Way Test. Three to 6 LNRC volunteers at each of the 7 schools will help distribute the dictionaries; approximately 20 volunteers will be involved. The project will begin on 10/26/11 and be completed on or about 11/09/11. Press releases to Patch.com and other news outlets will be sent. The expected impact will be teaching the use of a dictionary, increasing literacy, and increasing the awareness of Rotary and Rotary's values.
