Project Description Country: USA Location: Buckeye Arizona Total Budget: $2,694 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Weekly readers for grades 3rd thru 6th grade for Buckeye Elementary School, in Buckeye Arizona, 400 students will benefit from this grant at a school which is 90% free and reduced lunch Providing reading material for 400 students, materials include, geography, current events and animal education. There is also a science section. In most cases this is the only reading material available in the child's home. This program is welcomed by administration, teachers and students. The funds will used to purchase the materials for the class room, Over 50% of the club participates in visiting the classrooms. The rotary Club has be invited to participate in Dr Suess Day.
