Project Description Country: Malawi Location: Mangochi Region Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: One photocopier, and school books being provided to The Malawi Childrens Village, a school for orphans in Mangochi, Malawi Malawi Children's Village has a multi-year relationship with The Palmer Rotary Club. The school educates more than 2000 orphans and provides many needed services. They are in need of additional class books for the expanding number of students and also need a photocopier that can keep up the demand of running the school and the programs they offer. www.malawichildrensvillage.org Club members will be raising additional funds to augment the grant and will ensure that the funds are used appropriately. We have 3 members going to Malawi this May to build homes for Foster Families that house MCV students. We will access the number of books needed and determine the appropriate type of copier as will as the feasibility of assisting with the purchase.
