Project Description Country: USA Location: Hastings, Nebraska Total Budget: $3,500 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Community Development: Renovation Summary: Hastings Hastings Sunrise Rotary will be assisting Horizon Recovery in remodeling a recovery home for Men. Horizon presented our Rotary club with a pressing need to update this home as it was falling into disrepair. Dan Rutt, the director of Horizon Recovery informed our club that one of the main keys to recovery is self worth. He expressed that when the men in his program have a home they are proud of and want to take care of, this improves their self worth. During their time at the Horizon Recovery home they are going through a faith based recovery program while also improving their life skills. They are taught how to place their faith in God while also gaining skills to get back into the work force and contribute to society. The remodeling will include purchasing appliances, carpet, window treatments.
