Project Description Country: USA Location: Arizona Total Budget: $1,900 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Education program for young children on drowning prevention and water safety. The books are distributed in two separate ways: We distribute in early childhood programs and at our water safety event on Memorial Day weekend. The In-The-classroom piece of the program consists of reading the book to children in preschool and kindergarten classes, teaching them Josh's float dance and assisting them in learning the water safety pledge. Each child receives a book who participates in this program activity. The Event program piece consists of providing caretakers and families with information about water safety and drowning prevention. Josh presents at the event and children receive his book after the presentation, dance and pledge. This book is geared toward children ages 3-7.
