St. Paul Elementary school is in need of purchasing 36 google chrome books. The chrome books would help the School create another computer lab. The second computer lab would allow more students to have access to technology for various assignments, projects, keyboarding, and testing.
Currently, the NeSA (Nebraska State Accountability) test requires students 3-6 grades to take it on the computer. The elementary has one lab that contains 30 computers, but our grade levels average 60 students, with the most containing 64. We also have our students complete the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment on the the computers as well. Having two computer labs so all three sections of the same grade could test at the same time would save so much time. This time could be used for additional teaching and learning as well as other activities.
Our students in K-6 grade also have a scheduled computer time. During this time they may be exploring computers and learning what they are all about (K-1) to being able to work on skills that they need support in through on-line services. THe 3-6 grades will also be using scheduled computer time to take keyboarding so they can become proficient at typing.
There is a great need for additional technology at St. Paul Elementary. Any financial support would be very much appreciated to help make this wish a reality for the students and teachers.
