Project Description Country: Mexico Location: New surgery center HIC Total Budget: $30,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Economic and community development Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Pediatric surgical equipment will assist surgeons performing the three most common pediatric surgical procedures in the new Surgery Center of the Hospital Infantil de las Californias (HIC) In September 2012, a 26,000 sq ft Pediatric Ambulatory Surgery Center will be completed, increasing (and at times doubling and tripling) HIC's capacity to provide services to children living on both California, US and Baja California, MX. To help equip HIC's new three operation room facility, LJGT will buy surgery instrument sets for three of the most commonly needed pediatric surgical procedures: Strabism correction (crossed eyes), adenoidectomy (which includes tonsillectomy), and and myringotomy (chronic ear difficulties).
