Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Elmore County

Total Budget: $1,935

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: School supplies for Teachers

Elmore County has more than 60% of the student population falling below the poverty level. This results in the teachers having to cover the costs of basic school supplies from their own pockets. The Rotary Club of Elmore County would like to minimize this by providing school supplies, cleaning supplies, and basic clothing items that the teachers request . The teachers from Mountain Home, Glenn's Ferry, and Grand View would provide us with their wish list over the course of the school year and the club would purchase and deliver the supplies to the schools. The project would run from September 2016 to May 2017.

The requirements for district grants are different for 2016-17 than they were for 2015-16 grants. For a project totally $2,700, the club contribution must be at least 50%, and funding of DDF from the district is subject to funds available. Please adjust your budget to reflect this, then initiate the signature process. Signatures from the primary contact person (grant manager) and the '16-'17 president are all that are required. Do not send to district leaders for signature. Signing must be completed no later than midnight June 1, 2016. If you have questions or need assistance, all me at (208) 308-5617.

Bennett Mountain High School is a school for high risk teens. The teachers have requested a food pantry for the students as many are homeless. The other school are requesting some clothing ( sweatpants, sweatshirts, socks and underwear) and pens, paper, markers, pencils which will be purchased and delivered to the District Office for the teachers to access. All these are specific requests from the teachers.

I have audited this project. Your financial summary lists $2,128.80 and your expenditures lists $1,794.90. These two must be equal. Also, your expenditure spreadsheet lists $1,928.80. It is best if you use the Final report Form from the District 5400 website. When you correct and submit your revised Final report, I will approve it.
