Project Description Country: USA Location: Thermopolis, WY Total Budget: $3,190 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Handicapped youth swing to be purchased and installed in Hot Springs State Park We wish to install a handicapped swing in the playground area of Hot Springs State Park. We have had several requests from parents with handicapped children. The specialized swing has a harness to secure the handicapped child safely. Currently there are no handicapped swings in the entire town of Thermopolis. The swing set that we will be purchasing has two handicapped swings. The Superintendent of the Hot Springs State Park is all in favor of the swing set and will have his crew install the set. He simply does not have money in his budget to purchase the swing set. It will be located in the playground area that is used constantly by tourists and local Thermopolis residents. Our Thermopolis Rotary Club will assist in the installation. We will then have a ceremony to dedicate the swing set and put a sign or other form of identification to let the public know it is a Rotary project.
