Summary: Provide back-to-school supplies to the children at ten elementary schools in National City, CA
The National City Police Deparmtment (NCPD) participates in a yearly fundraising partnership with the National City Low Rider Community, and the National City Rotary Club to purchase school supplies for the students of the National City School District (NCSD). The NCSD servies 6,700 students at ten schools. During the current economic down-turn, NCSD has incurred yearly budget deficits making it more difficult for teachers and parents to provide basic school supplies. After the supplies are purchase (hopefully in September), NCPD School Resource Officers, and National City Rotarians, working directly with the NCSD principals and teachers will disperse the supplies to the classrooms and students.
