Summary: Project Support Our Teachers will fund resources to support classroom teachers in enhancing the instruction of their students.


Project Support Our Teachers will fund resources to strengthen, enrich and supplement school district curricula with teacher created lessons to enhance their instruction in order to better meet their students' need for understanding. Our club's funds will be combined with other community nonprofit organizations, corporations and individuals through an umbrella foundation, the Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation to provide Grants to Teachers Awards for over 100 teachers in our district who have made grant requests. As the grant requests are for $500 to $1,000 projects, we will be funding a limited number of the grants with our contribution. Ten to twelve of our members will volunteer to participate in the review, evaluation and prioritizing of the grants with other community members. At the Awards Dinner Ceremony, held in early February, some of our club members will be presenting the Foundation checks to the teachers. They will then purchase what they need through the vendor of their choice and present the receipt(s) to the Foundation as soon as possible.
