Summary: Project Support a Habitat will provide funding and physical labor in building a Habitat For Humanity home for a needy family.
Project Support a Habitat will contribute resources to help "build homes for those who need them." We will be sponsoring a weekend build through the Habitat for Humanity non-profit organization in Orange County on a home being constructed for a needy family in the county (location to be determined). The organization requires a contribution of funds, $5,000 total, and the physical help of our members in constructing the home during a weekend. At least 25 of our members and their families will participate in this project which will occur in the Spring of 2017, Our club will contribute more than half the funds necessary and we are applying for the remaining amount from the District. We have already secured the funds within our club and by partnering with other Rotary Clubs to participate in a "trial run" weekend build in the Fall of 2016. So this grant will help us to double the our service to the families in our community in need of affordable homes.
