Summary: Kitchen cabinets for mentally disabled orphans at Rancho Santa Marta, San Vicente, Mexico.
Founded over 40 years ago Rancho Santa Marta Orphanage is a working ranch and a safe haven for needy children. The orphanage provides a home for 40 abandon Mexican children and a school for 190 students from neighboring towns. The Victor House is a permanent home for the disabled residents of the Ranch. It will be an assisted living setting with up to 10 beds providing a safe and permanent home for those that would otherwise be on forced onto the streets of Mexico. Victor, whom the home is named after, arrived at Rancho Santa Marta when he was just 8 years and is mentally disabled. He is 38 years old now and is the inspiration for this much needed project. The grant proceeds will purchase the kitchen cabinets and counters for the Victor House. This Rotary Grant will help finish this project and allow the residents to move in by the December 2016.
