Our time line is to complete this project by May of 2017. OC United is obtaining a home in Fullerton to assist Foster Children in becoming self sufficient and transitioning as positive contributors to society. The program serves transitional age youth (ages 18 - 21) from foster care by providing wraparound, holistic support. The home is a key component in this, by providing housing, where other assistance in job training and placement, assistance with tutoring for GED or college prep, professional counseling, life-skills training and emotional care are provided.
The program needs help to acquire furnishings to outfit this home, move furnishings into place, and other assistance to get the home ready for these kids.
Our grant request is to assist in sourcing, acquiring and moving furniture and kitchen basic living needs. We anticipate involving 12-15 club members, our Fullerton Cal-State Rotaract and RYPEN Satellite club.
