Our aim is to raise sufficient funds to purchase a new Tuk Tuk vehicle to deliver meals to homebound seniors who otherwise would not get regular meals. Families live on less that a dollar a day and the last person to get fed is the one who contributes the least to the family unit, the seniors. Many suffer, unfortunately, from malnutrition and exist on a handful of corn and a tortilla per day with little or no clean water. The Tuk Tuk is the workhorse vehicle ideally suited to the uneven cobbled and narrow dirt streets of Guatemala. The purchase price of $6,000 includes a new vehicle, service, and fuel for one year. Our club member, Gavin Fleten, will travel to Panajachel to help establish the program when the vehicle is purchased and ready for service.
We will partner with the local club Lake Atitalan and established, on-site, non-profit MayanFamilies.org (Mayan Families)
