Project Description

Country: Mexico

Location: Tijuana

Total Budget: $1,000

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Project needs technology updated. TJ Scholars is a program for extremely low income students to remain in school and graduate. Our program teaches them english and computer skills.

On Saturday's, Rotarians and volunteers skype with the students to teach them English and computer skills. Our program has been successful but we struggle with our internet connection TJ and are looking to enhance our technology to improve the class experience with fewer disconnects and interruptions. The timeline to get this accomplished is before the end of 2016. Rotarians from our club along with an IT consultant will augment our existing technology to strengthen internet connection.
