The La Mesa Rotary Club will be partnering with an organization called Bikes for Kids. We will be purchasing bikes and helmets at $42.00 a piece x 100 = $4200.00. We will need 2 Rotarians to pick up bikes, than at one of our members place of business we will have to build them. Last year we had 40 volunteers interact kids Rotarians and friends help with bike build. Then we use a container company to donate a container to store bikes . Then on the day of the bike giveaway we will deliver to the school and have the essay contest, the students and teachers think there is only going to be one winner but actually ever student that wrote an essay receives a bike . This is all completed in the month of December 2016. We will have better idea of school once the school year starts. The school will be a Title one school.
