Project Description Country: USA Location: Escondido Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: 100 backpacks with supplies for low income children in Escondido for kindergarten The Escondido East Rotary Club has had a 42 year relationship with the Escondido Community Child Development Center in Escondido. Escondido East has helped to provide many supplies, building materials and volunteer hours to ECCDC, a low income child development center. This year our Board of Directors and membership would like to provide backpacks to the kindergarten age children. The backpacks will include needed supplies to help them in their transition from preschool to elementary school. The backpack is durable and includes, pencils, coloring pencils, crayons,composition notebooks, markers, erasers, scissors, folders, pencil box and hygiene products. Club members will be involved in purchase of the items and delivery to the students.
