Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Greeley

Total Budget: $1,500

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: The purchase of 15 --- 60 inche round conference tables adn related carts for tables. Tables will be large enough to seat 8 people

There have been 7 Rotary Clubs in Greeley and the surrounding area that are spearheading the development of a new Community Center for youth and adults in an area where humans, nature and animals interact. This a continuation to improve the learning area facilities at the Poudre Learning Center in Greeley. The facility is used by over 25,000 visitors from area schools and Senior programs in the area; including students from Northern Colorado University, Colorado State University and the University of Colorado.

There is a building now being used that is far too small. The funds for the new facility are being raised through local resident contributions as well as several grants from several foundations. No Rotary grant money is involved with the building construction. The Greeley After Hours Club request a $1,000 Rotary Centennial Project Grant, which will be matched by $500 from club funds to purchase 15, 60 inch round conference tables and related carts for the tables. Tables are large enough to seat 8 people. Centennial Rotary Club, The Greeley Downtown Club and Greeley After Hours are all working on this as a joint project.
