1) The Barotac Nuevo Elementary School, in Iloilo, Philippines is in need of help in renovation of its classrooms. It needs replacement of Student's desks. Currently the desks are worn out, some are without back rests due to being over 60 years old.
We will also provide 6 new computers to be used by students as well as teachers. The integration of technology to the school's curriculum improves the student's learning processes. This will engage both teachers and students in problem solving using these powerful tools. For the economically disadvantaged students, the school will be the only place they can have the opportunity to use the computer. There is growing evidence that technology integration positively affects student's achievement and academic performance.
Estimated completion of this project by February 2017. We are applying for a $3000 district grant to be matched by our club. We are actively doing fundraising, and some members will be going to the Philippines for the delivery of the computers.
