Project Description Country: USA Location: Wasilla, Alaska Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Furnish and decorate a room of comfort for children of abuse and neglect. The Children's Place is a place that offers hope and healing to children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect through a coordinated community response. They are building a new building as the current building has reached capacity and they are in need of a new facility to meet the growing needs of the Mat-Su valley and the increase in child abuse cases. The construction of the new building will begin in the summer of 2017. Club member involvement will be to help furnish and decorate a "Rotary Cares" waiting room of comfort, for families and children waiting to be examined and interviewed.
