Project Description Country: USA Location: Alaska Total Budget: $43,010 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Provide comfort bags to Alaskan Children in the Foster Care system. This District wide program would focus on a very emotional and difficult time when children are moving into and around the Foster Care system. Rotary would provide backpacks and duffle bags to the Office of Children's Services for distribution to the hundreds of Alaskan Children experiencing these traumatic displacements each year. The bags and comfort items inside would hopefully bring a little joy, self-worth and comfort. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Due to the cancellation of another district grant for 2017-2018, the district grants committee voted to authorize $2,000 for Project P-1590, Rotary Cares.
