Summary: Provide funding for the Kearney Whitewater Park to increase the water trail activities for the public.
Request #4 for grant money: The Kearney Noon Rotary Club and the Kearney Whitewater Association are hosting a three part fund raising race (Kearney Multi-Sport Challenge) on Sunday, August 20, 2017. It will involve kayaking, biking, and running. All money raised will go towards improving the Kearney water trail activities - a long term recreational trail that the public can access. The Kearney Noon Rotary Club's financial contribution and volunteer time committment will increase the funds needed to build for examply more entry and exit points for the water trail. The water trail is a very rare benefit that few communities our size have to offer. The fund raising race is on the same weekend as other activities celebrating the total solar eclipse which will occur in our community on Monday, August 21, 2017. Kearney is expecting visitors from all over the world to come and experience the eclipse. We are helping with this race to increase activity and wellness for our community members and for visitors alike.
