Project Description Country: USA Location: Sedona, AZ Total Budget: $1,079 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Provide 70 back packs and school supplies for low income kids in the Sedona Oak Creek School District Administration of the Sedona Oak Creek School District has identified the need for free of charge back packs and school supplies to be furnished to its low income Title IX qualified students. The Sedona Red Rocks club has the opportunity to purchase 70 backpacks at our vendor's wholesale cost (50% of retail)and fill them with much needed school supplies. The school district is requesting delivery by August 1. Actual cost of the backpacks is $402.63. Based on the list of supplies each child is asked to have, estimated cost is $676.90. The club has $700 it its budget for this project. Club members participate by shopping for and filling the backpacks with the school supplies. Red Rocks Rotarians also assist with the delivery. Information about the club and that it provided the backpacks free to the students in included in each. Local newspaper coverage + Facebook is also arranged.
