Activity Type: Health: General

Summary: Blanket Warming Cabinet for Elderly Residents of Non-Profit Valentine NE

With a relatively small investment to provide a blanket warming cabinet at the Good Samaritan Society we can greatly impact the quality of life for 38 elderly residents instantly with comfort they deserve by August 2017.

When it comes to elderly, the young often say, 'the needs of the elderly', but that's incorrect. To the elderly its more than just needs, its the struggle of the elderly to hold on through their potential illness, injury or terminal condition on a daily basis. They are normal people who lead great lives in their younger years and are now living in the hardest stage of their life. We believe as a club and community they deserve to have resources available to help them be comfortable. Rotary Club of Valentine can help.

The Rotary Club of Valentine would like to help our local Good Samaritan Society with the purchase of a towel warming cabinet with enough capacity to comfortably accommodate all 38 residents. Rotary Club Members of Valentine will learn and promote the safety, benefits and considerations of elderly sensitivities with maintaining proper body temperature. To ensure the longevity of the investment, participating Rotary members will familiarize themselves with the machine and host an educational seminar with any Good Samaritan Society employees with its function, use and maintenance.

We hope to share the warmth of Rotary one blanket at a time.
