1. The purpose of this project is to assist the Tustin Unified School District with supplies and encouragement in the learning arena. We strive to have the teachers think out of the box and become creative in their teaching. The avenues cover science, PE, math, reading, cognitive skills, and the arts. The teachers submit their projects in writing explaining goals and how to achieve them. We have a submission form to fill out and they are to tell us of course an amount of money needed, what the curriculum will be, and how many children it will serve as some of the questions.
2. The students in the school district are very diverse and come from many social and economic areas. Several schools have gate programs and some are Title 1 one schools. We try to supplement those schools that may not have the parent participation, funding, and PTA funds available. The teachers really know what is needed in the individual schools to assist their students.
As an aside I have submitted an example sheet of projects and budget for them. We will not receive the applications until November. We will judge in November early December and have our winners by that time. We need to make sure funds will be available to fund this project before sending out the requests. Thank you for your consideration.
