Summary: Support of Friday Food Bags Foundation to provide healthy meals to underprivileged school children

The Rotary Club of Cheyenne (Noon) is looking to provide both financial and volunteer support to the Friday Food Bag Foundation of Cheyenne, WY.

The Wyoming Department of Education data indicates, during the 2015-2016 school year, 38% of students grades K-12 in LCSD #1 and #2 qualified for free or reduced meals. While the students receive nutritional meals during the week through free or reduced fee breakfasts and lunches, many still do not have consistent access to nutritious food (or any food at all) on the weekends. The goal of the Friday Food Bag Foundation is to provide ready to eat meals to help school aged children with a bag of food on Fridays to help their dietary needs through weekends. In addition to financial support, volunteers are needed to fill bags each Wednesday, which Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Cheyenne will participate in.
