Project Description Country: USA Location: Kalispell, MT Total Budget: $9,037 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Building an accessible therapeutic gardening space for Cancer Support Community in Kalispell, MT. 10 Rotarians will work under the supervision of hospital project management. Cancer residents will have access to learn new skills that can be used when retur Kalispell Daybreak Rotary is proposing to build an accessible gardening deck for the Cancer Support Community to enhance the therapeutic recovery process and establish the practices that provide a healthier environment for cancer patients and survivors. Currently there is no access for patients with impaired mobility. Rotarians will work under the supervision of the construction department of Kalispell Regional Hospital to construct the improved deck space and raised gardens. Daybreak Rotarians will purchase the needed construction materials and provide the labor to construct the improvements. In its first year the Cancer Center has served 105 individuals and families touched by cancer.
