Anica Herrera, the Child Life Specialist at Phoenix Children's Hospital-Mercy Gilbert, in Gilbert, Arizona has indicated that her facility needs toys for the children who are patients there. More specifically, the toys needed are those that will help promote play therapy. Play therapy is a technique whereby the child's natural means of expression, namely play, is used as a therapeutic method to assist him/her in coping with emotional stress or trauma.
Club members will be involved by ordering the toys, taking inventory and delivering the toys to the hospital.
We should be able to finish this project by March 2018.
