Project Description Country: USA Location: Anaheim Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: School clothing and supplies for children in need - Shopping spree at Target store in Anaheim, Calif. The purpose of this project is to help children in need obtain some of their back-to-school clothing and school supplies for the start of the new school year. The Anaheim Hills Rotary Club will sponsor ten children by purchasing $100.00 worth of shopping spree clothing from Target and $50.00 worth of packbacks stuffed with school supplies, for each child. The purchasing will be made using Target "Gift Cards." Our club members will be the ones shopping with the children to provide guidance. This project provides recognition to graduates of the Anaheim Family Justice Center's program, "KIDS CREATING CHANGE." The children that the Anaheim Hills Rotary Club sponsor are all at-risk students. This project will provide them with a better opportunity to succeed in school, which will ultimately be a benefit to the community. Without this program, it is unlikely these children would have the supplies and clothing they need.
