Project Description Country: USA Location: Long Beach, CA Total Budget: $25,000 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Education: General Summary: 23RD ANNUAL CAMP HELD IN BIG BEAR CA FOR 60 HS JRS FROM THE LBUSD This project introduces Jr HS students from the LBSD to the Free Enterprise system. This years camp will be held April 10th thru the 12th. Students are divided into teams of 6 and assinged 2 Rotarian councilors (volunteers) with business experience and backgrounds. The teams travel by bus to Camp Oaks in Big Bear City CA on day one and select a (startup) business model to develop. These teams and the Rotarians work over the next 2 days to develop and define their business and market approach from all aspects. On the final day the teams present their plans to a group of Rotarians and the best team is recognized. The funds are needed for transportation and the cost of camp (lodging and meals).
