Project Description Country: USA Location: Thermopolis, WY Total Budget: $1,500 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Playground Equipment for young children - Ages infant to 6. An individual in our community conducts a reading program with parents of young children - infants to age 6. The program is conducted at the grade school and sometimes there are 60-100 people there for hour long sessions. It would be beneficial to have playground equipment appropriate for the age level (infant to 6 years of age). Of course the School system has been approached but the School does not have the funding for early childhood things. They just deal with their school age children. There is playground equipment at the grade school but it is not age appropriate for infants to 6 years of age. The new playground equipment would be available to the community throughout the year. There will be many community individuals and clubs participating because the cost estimate is $75,000. Our Thermopolis Rotary Club would like to help financially and with volunteers to this very worthwhile project. The funds would need to be available in April or May of 2019 to purchase and install.
