Summary: A community needs assessment will be conducted to effectively expand the model for a sustainable and scalable diabetes health education program.
In 2017, the American Diabetes Assoc is conducting a 5-day camp that consists of immersive health education regarding diabetes & obesity that is age-appropriate and fun. Before, during and after this camp, Rotary/One & the ADA will conduct a community needs assessment to effectively expand the model for a sustainable impact and a scalable program. The Community Needs Assessment will consist of engaging diabetes stakeholders such as at-risk children, families of at-risk children, leaders of faith-based communities, healthcare professionals, community health centers and hospitals.
