Project Description Country: USA Location: Julian CA Total Budget: $900 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: Disaster Recovery Summary: Plant 1000 tree seedlings to restore a burn area devastated by wildfires. Massive wildfires in the Julian, CA, USA area in 2003 and 2007 destroyed 197,990 acres of natural habitat. This project will initiate the restoration process by planting tree seedlings. This activity will also meet RI President Ian Riseley's challenge to plant a tree for every Coronado Rotary Club member. The club will purchase 1000 seedlings, and club members will plant them in the burn areas on Sunday, April 15. DDF and club funds will be used to buy the seedlings and transport volunteers to the planting site.
