Summary: 5 commercial washing machines and 4 commercial dryers for the new laundry at Open Arms Home for Children, Komga, South Africa
Open Arms Home for Children serves as a loving home for 57 children orphaned by AIDS in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It was founded by Rotarian Bob Solis and his wife Sallie in 2006. Given the growth of the organization, Open Arms is in need of building a dedicated laundry facility on its 70 acre campus. With 57 resident children, there is obviously a huge laundry need each day and Open Arms has outgrown its current laundry with 2 smaller washers and 1 small dryer. Through private donations, the new laundry building is being built. It is the hope of the Sun City Rotary Club that other Rotarians in various clubs in Arizona, Minnesota and Virginia will come together to provide the desperately needed equipment for the new laundry building. The equipment will consist of 5 commercial washing machines, 4 commercial dryers, folding tables, 2 irons and clothing racks.
