Summary: New boreholes and microflush toilets in the Bolgatanga Municipal District of the Upper East Region, Ghana
Our goal is to provide communities with twenty-three boreholes (deep wells), three small town water systems, three hundred new microflush toilets with hand washing sinks for homes, and one toilet block for a school in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The new microflush toilets will be provided to homes and schools to increase awareness and use of the new toilet technology. We also want to develop training videos and materials to teach new microflush toilet makers. The total project of $189,914 will impact 16,052 people. Approximately 6,750 people will be provided with clean drinking water from new wells. Almost 161 WATSAN committee members in twenty-six communities will be trained how to maintain the water system.
This is a multiple club project and we would like to support this project, by providing $4,000. Our club has designated $2,000 for this project and would like to respectfully request $2,000.
