Project Description Country: USA Location: Lake Havasu City Total Budget: $9,000 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Provide educational equipment and supplies for new Youth Center in Lake Havasu City Havasu for Youth is a non-profit organization that works with the youth of the community. They have procured a building to house a youth center to give our kids a place to hang out with supervision providing an environment with educational opportunities as well as fun activities. However, they need equipment and supplies to get started. Our project will provide equipment for art activities, music, drama, physical fitness, healthy cooking, and computer instruction. We will provide computers, laptops, yoga mats, guitars and music, free weights, and art supplies as shown on the project budget. Havasu for Youth will provide supervision and instruction for these activities. This will benefit our youth by giving them a place to go in their free time (after school and weekends) that is fun and educational. In addition to the educational activities, Havasu for Youth has planned a coffee house area, a games area and a conversation area. Our timeline is to start as soon as we receive the grant notification and complete within 6 months.
