The Ogallala Public Schools Backpack program provides a weekend worth of ready to consume nutrition for lower income children in the Ogallala Elementary and Middle Schools. The items are discreetly placed in backpacks in the kids lockers before the end of the school day. The children that this benefits are the most at risk for malnutrition and the negative learning outcomes associated with malnourished children.
