Broken Bow Area Rotary has identified a need for grant writing training for our area not-for-profit organizations such as our own Rotary Clubs, the Lions, Elks, youth organizations such as TeamMates and Heroes, area museums, foundations, 4-H and the Ag Society... the list is extensive.
In order to provide this service we have been in touch with:
Ellen Freeman-Wakefield, MPA
University of Nebraska at Omaha
School of Public Administration
Director of Professional Programs
We initially wanted to bring in a two-day class to provide hands on opportunities but found that to be too expensive (estimate $2500) and have asked for a one day program in its place.
The class should offer opportunities for our not-for-profits to explore help in funding various community projects, as well as additional tools for our Village Clerks - the director at UNO stated that if the program were open to the village clerks, UNO could fund their participation in the class and that could help in funding.
This project should bring value to the participants, and thus value to our communities. It would also be a terrific venue for Rotary to seek new membership.
