Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Lexington, NE

Total Budget: $843

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Scholarship

Summary: Two RYLA Scholarships

We believe the youth are the future of Rotary. The Lexington Interact club was established in the past but just this last year was reinvigorated. Currently the Interact club includes over 25 members of both Freshman and Sophomores at Lexington High School. This year, we will be sending 2 students to RYLA which has not occurred in this club for quite some time. We would like to receive funding to send 2 additional students with hopes to raise additional funds to continue the 2 spots from this year, hoping to send a total of 4 Lexington students to RYLA next year. The youth are hungry, they are hungry to make change and to make a difference. The Lexington Interact successfully raised over $1500 this past year, donating their money to Shelterbox for the 2nd year in a row. We must invest in our youth. Sending two additional students to RYLA will further expand their knowledge of what Rotary is and the differences it is making and will continue to make in the world.
