Project Description Country: USA Location: Arlington, TX Total Budget: $2,400 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Distribute Dictionaries/Thesauruses to 6 Elementary (3rd Grade) and 2 Jr Highs (7th Grade) The Grant Budget($1200) will be used to supplement the Club's budget ($1200) to provide Dictionaries (600 to 6 Elementary schools - Third Grade) and Thesauruses (600 to 2 Jr High Schools - 7th grade). This is a continuing project for our club and last year we expanded it to cover the 7th grade in the 2 Jr High Schools which feed Seguin High School which our club sponsors with scholarships each year. The Dictionaries/Thesauruses are used by the students to help them develop their communication skills (3rd grade - spelling and word literacy and 7th grade - creative writing). Our club participation is almost 100% each yer without fail.
