Gabriel's Angels provides Pet Therapy , at no cost, to at-risk children, ages infant to 18 years, through partnerships with child serving agencies, including crisis nuseries, domestic violence and homeless shelters group homes ans to at-risk children in after school programs. A Gabriel's Angel Pet Therapy team, Owner and dog, completes an evaluation, registration process, health examination, pass a skills and aptitude test, background checks, orientation and at-risk behavioral training and finally specific module training fro 25 age appropriate activities.
At this point the Pet Therapy team is sent into the field to serve 10-12 children for weekly visits. Each visit last between 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Therapy Team attrition rate is approx. 15-20% per year.
