Project Description Country: Lebanon Location: Lebanon Total Budget: $8,343 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Provide school supplies for displace refugee children in Lebanon. For main project in September The Amal Alliance will be launching a program in Lebanon during September 2018 in partnership with Teach for Lebanon, a Lebanese NGO that ensures all children have access to quality education while fostering youth leadership and promoting civic engagement. The Amal Alliance will be implementing their education and integration programs in five (5) of Teach For Lebanon's schools across several regions in Lebanon. Amal Alliance will be creating safe spaces within the schools and providing all the school supplies, arts and crafts supplies, backpacks, recreational equipment, sports equipment, and additional supplies needed for the programs. Within the safe space, Amal Alliance certified trainers will instruct the Teach For Lebanon "fellows" how best to impart the informal education curriculum and wellness programs that are intended to address the psycho-social needs of the children. These classes are not solely focused on refugees, but include the disenfranchised children of the Lebanese community and displaced youth and unaccompanied minors; adding a level of integration that allows divisive barriers of intolerance and marginalization to be minimized. The age range of children participating in the programs will be from 3-16 years of age.
