Activity Type:
Community Development: Construction/Renovation
Summary: Provide a replacement evaporative cooler unit for the food storage building.
The food bank in Lake Havasu City, AZ has closed due to problems with the previous organization running it. The food bank serves between 400-700 families per month and is currently out of service. To meet this URGENT need in our community, the Havasu Community Health Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, has agreed to take on the food bank. This has involved working with the mayor and the city to lease the site of an old fire station for the new location of the food bank. There is a free-standing garage/warehouse on the property that has a broken down evaporative cooler that needs to be replaced so it can be used for canned food storage. The main building will also need major renovations to make it usable as a food bank. Our club has already contributed $15,000 toward this and we are hoping to get a matching grant of $2,000 to cover the cost of the evap cooler. The renovation work will be starting in the next 30 days and we will be asking our Rotarians to help volunteer with the demolition and reconstruction. We are hoping to have the food bank up and running again by no later than September 1st, 2018.

Steve, was that invoice marked "POSTED" by you or the dealer? Invoices are generally not acceptable unless they are marked paid by the recipient of the funds.
