Project Description Country: USA Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Total Budget: $8,240 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Education: General Summary: We wish to support several student improvement projects including Interact Clubs, Rotaract Club and after school mentoring program associated with Camp Fire The Rotary Club of Wichita Falls plans to establish a Interact Clubs at Hirschi High School, Burkburnett High School and Wichita Falls High School and a Rotaract Club at Midwestern State University to encourage volunteer service among the student body and provide a forum to promote Rotary and its areas of service. Additionally, we plan to contribute to The Special Services After-School support program associated with Camp Fire North Texas for at risk students. Thus far, $3000 has been given to Camp Fire of North Texas for several programs including Special Services After-SChool Program, Traditional Clubs, Day Camp, Swimming, Outdoor and Environmental Programs. Interact Clubs have been established att Hirschi and Wichita Falls High Schools and there is now a Rotaract Club at Midwestern State University. Rotary and Interact participation in International Grant G1581 with is pending.
